FAIRFAX, VA, NOVEMBER 13, 2003- Two projects for which HITT Contracting Inc. was the general contractor, were given AIA “Awards of Excellence in Interior Construction.” The projects and their respective teams were honored at an event hosted by the Washington Architectural Foundation, this past weekend. The awards gala was held at the New Washington Convention Center.

The HITT Technology team received an award for the Greenberg Theatre at American University designed by Einhorn Yaffee Prescott. The 14,200 s.f. renovations included the renovation of the main lobby, including a new ticket booth and advertising area. In addition the backstage renovations include production, scene and costume shops, 27 dressing stations, an integrated rehearsal room, and a separate “Diva” Room for the headlining star. An extensive theatrical lighting and audio/video package was also part of the scope.

The Morgan Lewis project was designed by the architectural firm STUDIOS Architecture. Vice President of HITT Law, Andrew S. Doyle Sr. adds, "The Morgan Lewis Project represents for us a defining example of what can be achieved when a project team functions as one unit driving towards the goal line. The level of design and finish with the compressed schedule could only have been achieved with the seamless interaction between STUDIOS and HITT, and a client that gave us the tools to get the job done."
