FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, MAY 14, 2004 – The Administration and Research & Development Campus project for MedImmune, Inc. in Gaithersburg, Maryland was recognized for Best Interior, Commercial Space Award of Excellence by the Maryland/DC NAIOP Chapter. Hellmuth, Obata + Kassabaum of Washington, D.C. was the architect. HITT Contracting Inc. was the general contractor.

The 218,000 s.f. new construction of a campus-style global headquarters is situated on a 25-acre lot. This project is the first of a three-phase development plan that will include a state-of-the-art research and development facility, as well as clinical, regulatory, commercial, and administrative departments. Upon completion, this campus will house a population of approximately 2,200 MedImmune, Inc. employees.
