FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, APRIL 29, 2004 – Tonight the 644,000 s.f. lease for Wilmer Cutler Pickering at 1875/1801/1899 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W. was recognized as Best Urban Office Lease Winner of 2004 -- one of the award categories of Washington Business Journal’s annual Best Real Estate Deals program. Program Judge Bob Pinkard of Cassidy & Pinkard remarked, “This transaction had it all. As a major Washington law firm, WCP had a few attractive options in which to consolidate for the long-term. Their solution was to locate at one of the premier sites in the central business district. The leases on the 1800 block of H Street required negotiations with two separate owners and occupancy of buildings on either end of the block while a major new office building was being developed to connect all three buildings into the law firm’s headquarters.” The architect is Shalom Baranes Associates with Lehman-Smith+McLeish on base building. Leo A Daly is the architectural firm overseeing interior design. HITT Contracting was the general contractor overseeing the fit-out at 1801 and 1899 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W. Lehman-Smith+McLeish was the architect.

Another HITT Contracting project, 2020 K Street, N.W., was recognized as a runner-up in the Best Urban Office Project category. Quadrangle Development Corporation is the building seller.
