| FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA, APRIL 11, 2003 – HITT Contracting Inc. has been awarded construction of the new west refrigeration plant for the Architect of the Capitol based on technical merit. Upon completion, this plant will provide 30,000 tons of cooling and the added capacity to serve the needs of the New Capitol Visitor Center, as well as replace existing equipment loads. HITT, in partnership with Poole and Kent, will complete the project in approximately two years from start to commissioning. Senior Vice President of Technology David Michaelson states, “We [HITT] are thrilled to be awarded this $67 million project and look forward to partnering with Poole and Kent and the Architect of the Capitol to produce an award-winning project.” Work is scheduled to begin in early May 2003. Senior Vice President of
Technology David R. Michaelson is overseeing HITT’s project team,
along with Senior Project Manager John F. Seeman. Poole and Kent’s
efforts will be led by Tom Lynott, and on site by Project Manager Glen
Meredith, who is transitioning from their successful project at The Washington
Convention Center.
